Assemblage by Social Political artist John Robertson I have been watching the news on television about the recent major offensive into the southern Afghan town of Marjah. What struck me in the coverage was how young the soldiers looked.
If you want to express yourself make a piece of art. All I can suggest is that I will post what I like and disregard what I do not like. I do not know what that will be until I see it. Yes, I am biased but a little bit opened-minded.
I like lively discourse. Unfortunately most of the comments seem to come from a dead mind. So I delete comments that offer vulgarity, hate-mongering and just plain stupidity. I do do not necessarily respond to comments. Generally there is no reason to do so.
I have no idea why others create political art but the object of my social political art on this blog is not to convince you of my social/political positions. It is created by me is so I may be able to better understand a particular point of view. They are not about you but about me and investigating an idea. So I actually may create a piece with a point of view that may be contrary to what I actually believe. But in this way I get a different perspective on the issue. And - instead of demonizing it I come to a more rounded understanding. I am not clear on my bias but I probably lean toward being a right-winged, social democrat or maybe that should be a left-winged conservative republican. Whatever it is, I don't care. If I did - I'd be doing something a little more active than creating art.
